Deborah Yost has been teaching and training all of her life from informally as a child in her backyard with neighborhood kids, to earning a teaching degree, to training staff at colleges and universities and training her own dogs. When she discovered dog agility in 2005, the fun quickly turned into a passion. Since 2009, she has been instructing agility classes and private lessons from beginner through advanced levels.
As a trained educator, Deborah is continually striving to learn new skills and techniques that she can pass on to her students. She particularly enjoys helping students and their dogs unleash their full potential and find new ways to work through training challenges.
Deborah’s focus in training is to create a strong bond between dog and handler and to shape behaviors using positive reinforcement. This bond and the learned behaviors create a strong foundation for agility and lifelong companionship with a dog.
Deborah competes in agility trials regularly and her dogs have earned numerous titles. Deborah’s current dogs are:
MACH 8 Kell “Russia"
Shadow Hill’s “Storm" on the Horizon, MXB, MXJB, T2B
