Nancy's love for dogs began with her family dogs: Miniature Schnauzers and Irish Setters. Nancy's father still tells stories of her walking his very large, high-energy Irish Setter through the neighbourhood in perfect heel position when she was only six years old. Nancy's first performance dog, a field-bred Springer started out as a pet, but she soon learned he had loads of energy. She looked for ways to keep him busy and exercised and she started out with basic obedience, field training and a little agility.
Competing with her Springers through out the mid 1990's, Nancy's accomplishments include multiple AKC Hunting, Obedience and Agility Titles. In 2012, Nancy started handling her Field Spaniel, Orbit, in the Conformation ring and plans to handle Orbit herself to obtain the breed Champion title. Her experience in performance events has helped her make the transition into this new venue. Nancy earned recognition in the USA National Springer Club (ESSFTA) for training and running the #1 AKC Novice and Open Agility Springer in 2010.
Nancy believes it is important to develop a good foundation relationship with your dog. Your dog needs to be a good pet at home and in public. The relationship starts when you first bring your puppy home and training never ends. When training a puppy, Nancy believes it is very important to make sure both the puppy and handler are having fun. When training is fun, the dogs learn quicker and more easily. Her goal is always to get the most out of a dog while having a great time. Whether you want your dog to have brilliant heeling or quick in agility, or just a great family member, then training him is the way to success!
